Introduction/motivation

Social pedagogy is increasingly present in university curricula. The consideration of social pedagogy at university is totally linked to its progressive institutionalisation as a profession.

Spain stands out among the top three countries with the greatest offer of training and research focused on social pedagogy. This is evidenced by the doctoral thesis of Angela Janer (2017) "Social Pedagogy under an international comparative view: analysis of the academic, training and professional perspective".

In this scavenger hunt you will discover the contribution of various thinkers to current Spanish Social Pedagogy.

Questions

  1. Why did Pestalozzi concretise his pedagogical approach by example head, heart and hand?
  2. What are Nohl's contributions to Spanish social pedagogy?
  3. Why is Paul Natorp often considered as one of the first key thinkers of social pedagogy?
  4. Have you heard the phrase "education prepares you for life" and what do you think after learning what Dewey thought about it?
  5. Why, for Paulo Freire, should education in every country become a political process?

Big question

After getting to know the three current reflections of Hämäläinen,  and Úcar, how do you consider that the contributions of the other thinkers have been reflected in Spanish social pedagogy?

Evaluation/questionnaire

All questions will be answered in the questionnaire on the UAB virtual campus
